Jim’s responsibilities at the Ralph C. Wilson Agency include the development and implementation of risk management solutions for both new and existing clients.

Although Mr. Gotts joined the Ralph C. Wilson Agency in 2005, his insurance career has spanned four decades.  After a management career with Liberty Mutual and Allstate he entered the agency arena.  In 1974 he was the founder and CEO of Lakeland Underwriters Corporation, one of the most progressive Risk Management and Employee Benefit agencies, locally.

Jim has developed and managed insurance and risk management programs for a number of publicly and privately held companies, including the State of Michigan and Disney.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) from the University of California and an MBA from Michigan State University.  He, also, holds an ARM, which is an Associate in Risk Management from the American College.

Jim has been very active in civic pursuits and contributed greatly to a number of organizations including, Walled Lake Schools as a grant director and as a football coach.

He is the past chairman of the Commerce Twp Planning Commission and the current Vice Chairman of the Commerce Twp Downtown Development Authority.
